Why did my Kia tell me to take a break? ›

If the driver's attention level drops below a certain level, the function will alert the driver through an audible warning and the blinking indicator light ( ), along with a message encouraging the driver to take a break.

If the system detects that your driving pattern has become irregular, it gives you an audible and visual warning in your instrument cluster to help keep you alert. The warning system has two stages: At first, the system issues a temporary warning that you need to take a rest. This message only appears for a short time.

In 1952, Kyungsung Precision Industry changed its name to Kia Industries. While often suspected of being an acronym, the name Kia actually comes from two Sino-Korean characters. The first is “Ki” (起) which means “to arise” or “awake”. The second is “A” (亚) which refers to Asia.

The original Kia logo had three diamonds overlapped by a circular gear, inside which was a hexagon. Inside the hexagon was a rectangle with the word “KIA” spelled out in capital letters. 1964-1986: The Kia “Q” logo was implemented during this period.

The word Kia has origins in the Chinese language with the first syllable Ki meaning to arise or come up out of. The second part of the word, a referes to Asia. Kia means to rise or come up out of Asia.
