These burgers were very good. My whole family enjoyed them. I followed the recipe exactly as written and served the burgers with the zucchini. I didn't think they were dried out at all. Next time I make them I will cook them on the grill.

The hamburgers were delicious! We cooked patties on cast iron skillet. Made turkey mixture/patties ahead of time. Could serve for special occasion for outdoor eating ~ we'll have again. I made 2 lbs and added about 1/4th lbs of ground beef. Served with the recommended zucchini.

What can you replace the feta cheese with? Thanks

Very tasty! Liked that you didnt have to add any oils, mayos, etc. The herb and cheese combo are more than enough flavor. First time I didnt make the cucumber spread and they were still tasty, however they are that much better with the spread.

These were so easy and tasted great! The lemon zest really adds to the flavor of the turkey. I did not have any trouble with it being too dry. I would suggest watching a tutorial on stuffing the cheese because I did have some trouble keeping the turkey together. I had some Greek yogurt sauce already pre-made so I used that, and it was great!

These were VERY good. I was worried about the burgers being dry since I was using lean turkey, so I added a beaten egg white to the mix and they were not dry at all (in fact, they may have been too moist). I also mixed the feta into the turkey mixture which worked well. We made four patties, ate two and froze too. I'm not a lamb fan, but I may try these with ground chicken.

I LOVE this recipe. However, I substituted ground lamb meat for the ground turkey. That goes WONDERFULLY with this recipe since it definitely is a Greek/Mediterranean inspired dish. I have had these burgers in the past with ground turkey and enjoyed it, but I definitely liked the lamb meat more. I LOVE the cucumber yogurt sauce however I substituted Krinos plain greek yogurt for the non-fat plain yogurt called for in the recipe. My husband really enjoyed this dish as well, and he is a picky eater. I highly recommend this dish... especially with the couple modifications I listed above.

Like some other reviewers, I used lean ground turkey and the burgers were a bit dry. The sauce is good, so we ended up using quite a bit more of it than the recipe called for to deal with the dryness. If I make this again, I'll try it with lamb. No matter what, I would add more herbs and some garlic. The burgers really weren't that flavorful. I served them with a cucumber and melon salad.

Loved this recipe. Used ground lamb instead of turkey though, since the recipe seems a little Greek.. It worked out very well! Very easy

this was quick, easy, and really impressed my husband who normally doesn't like his burgers tampered with. i even subbed...dried onion, horseradish in the sauce instead of mint. he loved it. next time will use the mint, and there will definitely be a next time.

Great Burgers. Took other reviewers advice and used 94% lean turkey meat, and mixed feta into the burger mix. Also used fresh oregano. I only had a regular cucumber on hand so I grated that then drained liquid out though a fine colander. Very moist, flavorful burgers.

Delicious---light but flavorful. Would recommend the zucchini side dish from the magazine---great sauteed garlic, zucchini and lemon juice. Amazing meal and very easy. Will make again soon!

Less healthy, but even yummier is making this recipe using LEAN ground lamb. I also like to add chopped pitted Kalamata olives to the meat mixture. Delish! We also make meatballs and even meatloaf following this recipe. You can really use any kind of ground meat you prefer.

Made these last night on the grill and they were a big hit. Several people asked me for the recipe. I used lean, not extra lean, turkey & fresh herbs. I crumbled the feta throughout the burger, not stuffed inside, and probably used more than what is called for in the recipe. The cucumber sauce was excellent, and went well with the lettuce & heirloom tomato slice. Next time I will try it with Greek Style yogurt for a little bit of tang. I found English cukes at Costco so they weren't too expensive. I served this with the Potato Salad with herbs & grilled squash, and the Oatmeal Cookie Peach Cobbler, all from the same June issue. Cobbler was a big hit, too. Will definitely make all 3 recipes again.

Like the last reviewer, I used 99% FF ground turkey so maybe that's a clue, but we did not like these. No one came back for seconds and I just ate a leftover burger for lunch and was even less thrilled than I was last night. The feta in the middle was a nice surprise but really the only thing that gave flavor (read: saltiness) to these otherwise bland burgers. Won't make again. For anyone who is getting ready to try these, maybe buy some turkey w/more fat. ?

I so hate to be the one to give the recipe only three stars. However, I thought it was good...just wouldn't make it again, nor serve it to company. I did use very lean ground turkey breast. Perhaps it was too lean and took away from the flavor?

These burgers are so good, the only thing different I did was chop up the feta and just mix it in with the turkey. We ate them without the bun, just used a fork. I love the lemon and oregano in them, very flavorful. Served with oven fries and sauteed zucchini.

I will definitely make these burgers again-they were awesome. We paired them with a green salad and the sweet potato shoestring fries (incredible as well). I also used a garlic/herb feta which was excellent. We did not have the burgers on buns but instead just layed them on top of a large piece of boston bib lettuce. This is definitely a summer classic!

The burgers were the best greek style burgers I have made... and one of the best turkey burger recipes. I didn't care for the yogurt sauce as is so I added garlic, lemon juice, dill, salt and pepper to make it into a tzazaki sauce.

These were delicious - they tasted even better than we expected - and they were very easy to make for something that tasted so good. I grilled them on a grill pan, and I look forward to trying them on a barbeque grill next time. I served them with the recommended zucchini sauteed in garlic and they were also delicious. We loved them.

This recipe has become one of our favorites! We've used turkey, then tried it with beef and I can hardly wait to make lamb burgers. The spice combination is terrific and the lemon adds the perfect little twist. With or without the cheese, it's great.

I cannot say enough good things about this recipe. It was such a great alternative to the hum drum (yet fabulous, I know) hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill. I was especially pleased with how the feta stayed in it's little pod inside the burger, as I was worried it would melt and drain out during cooking. I cooked these on the bbq and they turned out great. I topped them with spinach, plum tomatoes and store bought tzatziki sauce...amazing. I would suggest watching the video that goes along with this recipe as it will aid you in getting the feta inside the burger. Definitely give this one a try this summer!!

The flavors were great and I was very pleased with the finished product. I made the mistake of using just-thawed frozen ground turkey, and it was very wet and messy. Next time I will drain it better or use fresh ground.

Wow! These are great--very flavorful and moist. My only changes were to substitute a heaping TB of fresh oregano for dried, add some crushed red pepper, and use whole wheat pitas instead of buns. Also subbed reg. cucumber as English cukes are too pricey. Delicious lunch with a simple salad of steamed broccoli, asparagus, and red pepper chilled in red wine vinegar and a drizzle of olive oil.

These were great - the burgers were very moist and flavorful, and went well with the yogurt sauce. I served them with roasted vegetables, and hummus and pita points. This would be a nice change for a cook-out for guests.
